A watch, also be called a timepiece, helps us understand how the world revolves. Initially, human beings used to describe time with the sun's movement. However eventually a small machine or a tool was developed which came to be called the watch.

Pre World War 1, pocket watches were used. Today watches have evolved from the spring watches that were used in 1600. Years back, watches were used to denote time, but today they are used as style statements.

Today, there is tremendous variety in watches. Wrist watches are the most common; however, there are also table clocks, wall clocks and digital clocks. Unlike the huge clocks of days gone by, today you will find watches in all shapes and sizes.

In the olden days, wrist watches only had leather or nylon straps that were fastened on the wrist. Today, however, there are fancy and Velcro straps available that make the watch look smart and enhance your looks.

There are many companies that have come up with their own styles and created distinctive watch brands. Just like in the clothing industry, watch designers are working on creating new, innovative watch designs to meet the needs of all types of people.

Alarm clocks are used to wake a person from deep sleep, or remind someone of work to be done. Alarm clocks have undergone a change from the ugly noises that they used to make to better sounds, and even alarm clocks that talk with a human voice.
